If you haven’t at least heard of Instagram, you’ve probably been living under a rock for the last few years. Whether you like it or hate it, its everywhere. I personally am a huge fan of Instagram and have been toying with the idea of printing some of the pictures I have posted. I thought about printing them at some place like Target or Kinko’s but I was really hoping for a nice matte cardstock finish. I checked out a few apps on my phone that offered printing service but none of them really grabbed me until I downloaded Social Print Studio.

Social Print Studio offers 4 different sizes of prints. I opted to purchase 2 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ sized pictures because I have a journal that I planned to use the pictures in. The prints were super easy to order. I pulled up my library on my phone and scrolled through the pictures and selected the ones as I scrolled. Note that all of the pictures you select will have a white border on them, so if your Instagrammed pictures have another border, it is possible that you will have both. The app allows you to crop pictures that are not in square format as well as zoom in on pictures (any format) to crop out any other borders or if you want to zoom in on something else in the picture. After selecting the pictures you want to print, it allows you to select how many of each picture that you want to print. Check out is a breeze and shipping is not only a flat rate, but extremely fast. Two days after I ordered my prints, I had them in my hand.

I have created an album on my phone and I put a copy of every picture I want to print in there so that I don’t have to keep track of what I have printed and what I haven’t. I can’t wait to amass a few more pictures and place another order. I can’t recommend this app enough as I am really impressed by the quality of the prints as well as the fast shipping.

(note : please note that this post is my own opinion (like all other posts) and was not paid or compensated with goods from Social Print Studio for this post.)

1. Waiting for my nails to dry. I am seriously the most impatient person when it comes to this task.

2. Hamming it up before heading out to the Call of Duty : Black Ops II midnight release. I’m wearing a tank top, I promise.

3. An envelope I doodled up before sending off to my best of friends.

4. The dogs at work – Jack making a lovely cameo in this cute picture of Tenny.

5. Tried something new with my nails by adding half of another color ontop instead of doing a standard french tip.

6. A lovely sunset shot from my drive home from work.

7. And another – seriously the sky was making this too easy.

8. Hanging out at work – doing… work things.

9. I hit the mall in an attempt to find some clothing items that I could add to my barebones collection of t-shirts and jeans. This top from H&M was not flattering in the slightest.

10. A little flashback Friday on Instagram. This picture is from Halloween 2007 – the one and only time I have applied make up in my adult life.

11. Another flashback to 2009. Love those braces!

12. Arein is exactly how you spell my name, if it weren’t already spelled Erin.

13. Lunch by myself on Saturday. I often try to find window seats so I can just gaze out, and this was a perfect little spot to watch the rain fall.

14. Butter noodles and a bowl of tomato soup from Noodles & Co.

15. I spotted this leaf on the way back out to my car after lunch. I was going to pass it up, but I immediately turned around after putting my bag in the car to snap a picture of it. It was just too pretty to go unnoticed.

I do apologize for my lack of posting lately. I received some news on Friday that I am not currently at liberty to talk about, and it has got me quite down. Hopefully something good will come of all of it, somehow, but for now – I’m just trying to keep my head up.

1. Decided to rock some plain black polish for the first time in a while. My pentacle ring is from The Bead Man and my aquamarine ring was given to me for my 16th birthday.

2. Starbucks sucks at spelling my name, and so does at least half of the population so I have found.

3. Panda Restaurant feast on election night.

4. Lunch at Cafe Olivette. Their special was pepperoni mushroom lasagna, with a choice of soup or salad. I didn’t feel like having either of those so I opted for french fries.

5. Midnight loves to drink water from the tap. So cute.

6. My drive home is 37 miles – which for the most part really sucks. But there are days where I get to view amazing sunsets like this one and it’s not so bad. I actually stopped in the middle of the road to take this picture (I was on a back road, no worries).

7. Gushers for breakfast y’all!

8. Me pretending to be some sort of model at work. I was rather pleased with my hair and outfit for the day. My top is from Torrid.

9. Added some polka dots to my nails for a little fun.

10. Watching videos on YouTube with the captions turned on can be quite hilarious, demonstrated by the video of Marvo from The Impulsive Buy.

11. Yet another amazing sunset on my drive home.

12. I finally found the Pumpkin Pie Spice Pringles after searching forever! See what I thought of them here.

13. TOEJAM AND EARL ON XBOX LIVE. YESSSSSSSSS!

14. My awesome Holiday Pie from McDonald’s.

She said yes…

Once upon a time I wanted to be a professional photographer. I absolutely love taking pictures, and sadly within the last 4 years, it has fallen by the wayside. I applied to the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, and was accepted to their bachelors of photography program, but once I saw the price tag, I knew that there was no way that I would be able to afford it. So I sought out a mentor to teach me the tricks of taking great pictures. He showed me all the inner workings of my cameras and we shot some really great pictures together, but the one major thing that I learned from him was that photography is an art that cannot be taught.

I agree wholeheartedly with this thought. I was convinced that by having an amazing camera, nice glass and knowing how to work all the dials and buttons that instantly my pictures would be good. But in all honesty, I have taken some really great pictures with my old Sony digital camera that took diskettes, some disposable cameras, and my cell phone.  My favorite things to shoot are landscapes, nature, macros and still life. I am absolutely terrified of taking pictures of people. I think its because it stems from my own hatred of having my picture taken.

My old roommates asked me to take pictures for their save the date cards earlier this year (pictured above – their info was below the save the date portion, but I removed it as I don’t know how they feel about having their name broadcast all over the Internet). I took quite a few pictures but managed to pare them down to a collection of roughly 25-30. I am really proud of the way their pictures turned out, especially the one used on their save the date. Maybe I should learn to be a little less critical?

Two friends of mine recently got engaged and have asked me to take their engagement photos. I am already stressing hard about it – mostly because I am so afraid of disappointing them. I have been scouring various wedding website blogs, Pinterest, and any other outlet I can find to come up with various pose ideas for them. As most things do, I’m sure it will all come together, and I am stressing for no reason – but I just can’t help myself sometimes.

Any wedding/engagement blogs you can recommend for great photography?

My week in an instant

Posted in Uncategorized by

Hi Friends! I had higher hopes of posting some stuff this weekend, but most of it was spent in bed with amazing (awful) migraine. Unfortunately I am part of the masses that have no medical insurance so I can no longer afford my prescription medication for said migraines. I have become an amateur chemist now trying to find a nice balance of pain meds to help alleviate my pain. Anyways, I am feeling better, so on with my past week in pictures!
